Please be advised, that the executive board has made a decision to bring our policies around penalty cap rules & related suspensions in line with other recreational leagues around the city.
In an effort to control some problematic situations of certain players and teams with above average penalty minutes, we are bringing in specific penalty cap rules for individual players & for aggregate team totals. We have decided on a tiered approach, that results in increasingly higher suspensions & consequences.
Please see the specifics of the updated rule changes:
1) Any player receiving 3 penalties in a game will be ejected from the game. Double minor penalties count as 2 penalties. Serving a bench minor or a penalty for another player does not count towards the serving player's penalty total. A "3 penalties in a game ejection" is to be noted in the penalty section of the gamesheet.
2) Any player who accumulates 28+ penalty minutes will receive an automatic 1 game suspension. If they then accumulate another 10+ minutes (38+ minutes) they will serve an automatic 2 game suspension. If they accumulate 10+ more (48+ minutes) they will receive a season ending suspension.
3) Teams that are averaging 10+ penalty minutes per game or reaching 280 team penalty minutes in a season will face supplemental discipline at the discretion of the Governor.
The executive is problem solving ways to track penalty minutes when playing as a substitute on other NAFHA teams.
NOTE: Individual player PIM will be tracked on aggregate basis of penalties received in home team games, as well as those received in substitute games.
